Appearing as one of Prince Philip’s relations in Netflix’s ‘The Crown’

Daphne Neville appeared in the very first episode of ‘The Crown’ as one of Prince Philip’s relations, who attended the Royal wedding in a wheel chair.

She was dressed in a large brown hat and a fur with long white gloves.

No one has been able to name her character, an historic figure who was in the front row in the abbey and appeared in the wedding photographs.

This did not worry Daphne, who loved every minute, filming on location in Ely where she had a front row seat.

You can read more about Daphne’s antics in the book ‘Funnily Enough’ available here

I am unable to find an email address for you and really need to ask you something.

Did you ever visit schools with Bee many years ago? Probably about 35 years ago? I have a fond memory of an otter coming to my primary school in Longwell Green, Bristol and us all having to sit in a circle while the otter was running around sniffing us all. I have a feeling the otter was called Bee Bee, and so upon finding your book in a local charity shop, I have put 2 and 2 together and am hoping that it was you. I would love for you to get in touch to let me know it it was in fact you and Bee.

    Many thanks

    Tracey

    • Yes, that’s right. So glad you have a copy of the book. Do add a short review on the Amazon site if you can!

Really? That is amazing. I have spoke about that time to various people over the years and no one else seems to remember it the same way as I do. I started to think it might have been a dream. Thanks for getting back to me.
